Climbing Wall Support Frame – PCYC Taree      

TEG Consulting Engineers was engaged by Wade Discovery Climbing to design a steel support frame to be used to establish and support climbing panels to a clay brick wall.

The project involved the design check to standards AS2316 to anchor it to the existing clay brick wall.  

The role required the following:

• The frame had to be mounted to the existing clay brick wall.   

• The frame had to support the climbing wall panel and all of the imposed loading as per AS2316.

TEG designed the steel framing, including all connections and anchors sufficient to support the wall panels and the forces imposed as per AS2316.

Certification was also provided for the framing.

TEG Consulting undertook the following actions:

• Designing and checking of the design.
• Creation of drawings for the design.
• Certification for the frame.

TEG Consulting has requested for As-Con pickup and submission of acquittal documentation. This requires field notes and photos compiled of finished works.

The climbing wall was successfully installed and is operational.
