Bowen Coke Hot Car

TEG Consulting Engineers was engaged to assist in the redesign of the Bowen Coke Hot Car.
The existing Hot Car was at end of life and dilapidated, and also posed a number of safety risks due to the old design.

The role required the following:

• Assist Glencore in redesign of the Hot Car to meet current specifications.
• Look at innovation of the Hot Car to improve operation and safety aspects including mechanics & control room.

TEG Consulting Engineers undertook design checks on all framing and equipment, provided advise on any issues.

Made recommendations to adopt MgO EPS board panels for the insulation of the control room and provided certification of all construction drawings:

• In addition provided assistance in addressing all RFI from fabricator.
• Provided on going advise to glencore as required during the fabrication process.

Project was completed successfully and the new hot car commissioned into operation.

The new Hot Car continues to operate efficiently to this day.
